North Korea

North Korea's missile and nuclear programs have distressed the world for decades. Concerns for the humanitarian conditions inside the isolated, dictatorial nation are also widespread. As recently as the summer of 2006, North Korea test-fired multiple medium-range missiles and one long-range missile. Though it failed less than a minute into flight, the fact that this missile could, if successful, target the United States put these issues back onto the national agenda.
