Summary of Recent Meetings

The Security Council's August agenda focuses on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon and Gaza. However, the follow-up to the recent resolution on Iran's nuclear program (Resolution 1696) may figure as well. A series of consultations are scheduled on issues in Timor-Leste, and an open debate is scheduled for August 9 on peace consolidation in West Africa.
